Glass Sunrooms
A favourite in Islington, Glass sunrooms are available in a huge range from the expert installers at the outdoor living group. Structures surrounded by frameless glass doors are known as glass sunrooms or winter gardens. Glass sunrooms also go by the name glass rooms, solarium outdoor enclosures, Florida rooms or patio rooms. What separates a glass room from a conservatory is its single glazed feature. A glass room is never overly hot in the summer because it is also constructed with glass side panels that can be drawn to expel heat.

The Different Types Of Sunrooms
Seasonal sunrooms are not made to be used with air-conditioning or conventional heating sources but still offer all year round use. A major design feature of seasonal sunrooms are single glazed doors or screens.
Glassrooms: are built with sturdy laminated glass roofing and single glazed glass doors that creates a space where the homeowner can enjoy the outdoors without having to worry about insects, other pests or the weather.
Solariums: provide an outdoor like aesthetic feeling because they are constructed majorly from glass. Which makes them the perfect spot for growing plants, entertaining or relaxing with a cup of tea. Solariums can either be used all year long or seasonally depending on design or construction.

In addition, you get a great outdoor space for relaxing during summer months, at the end of a stressful day or maybe hosting family and friends. Heating up a sunroom.
A sunroom can be heated in a couple of ways. A more efficient method is to use compact radiant heaters to warm up people not the sunroom. These are great options because they are powdered coated and can match the colour of your glass room.
How to cool a sunroom
Due to a glass garden's sliding glass panel doors, you really do not have to worry about heat. You can improve ventilation further by incorporating a retractable roof shade. You can have an automatic sun sensor affixed with an external side shade on the outside to track the movement of the sun.
FEATURED GLASS ROOM PROJECT
A contemporary glass room for outside dining
Mr & Mrs Farthing 5.7m x 3.0m glass room with integrated LED roof lighting, bespoke roof shade & dimmable heaters
Our vision was to have a very minimal and low maintenance garden that was going to be usable all year round. Our designer Martyn came out to meet us and immediately we were sold on the frameless doors as this would give us the view we were looking for.
The designIt was a pleasure to work on this project helping to create the Farthings’ vision of what an outdoor living experience should be. We delivered the solution they required without any compromise in design or practicality resulting in a great outdoor living area. The glass roof section of the glass garden room had a balcony cut-out in the middle to work around the protruding doors and windows in the centre of the property. We constructed a raised substructure which the room was built off and finished the surface with composite decking.
