Customer vision

Our vision was to have a very minimal and low maintenance garden that was going to be usable all year round. Our designer Martyn came out to meet us and immediately we were sold on the frameless doors as this would give us the view we were looking for.

The design

It was a pleasure to work on this project helping to create the Farthings’ vision of what an outdoor living experience should be. We delivered the solution they required without any compromise in design or practicality resulting in a great outdoor living area. The glass roof section of the glass garden room had a balcony cut-out in the middle to work around the protruding doors and windows in the centre of the property. We constructed a raised substructure which the room was built off and finished the surface with composite decking.

Is planning permission required for a glass room?

Most properties have permitted development right, so it is very rare for a permit to be required before you install a glass room. But don’t worry, if you do need it then we can assist you with the process.

Is it possible to use a Glass Room all year long?

Yes. All you have to do is incorporate lighting, heating and shading solutions to your winter garden room to make them perfect for use in all seasons.

How much does a glass room or sunroom cost?

A design consultation and survey of the property is needed before we can provide a quote as all our glass rooms are custom built. There is no fixed price for our glass rooms because they are custom-made. Price is completely dependent on the type of property and design requirements. Typically, our prices for a small glass room starts at £15,000. To better manage installation cost, you glass room can be constructed in stages. We can begin with a standard glass veranda. You can have this converted into a complete glass garden room at a later date by adding additional features such as retractable roofing, sliding glass panels and lighting.
